Just in case you haven't heard, Shopbop is having a 30% off sale.  The sale started yesterday, and it goes through tomorrow, so I thought I would make things easy on you and share my picks.  Hurry on over and scoop up these deals while they last.  Maybe grab yourself an early Christmas present or two. I definitely have my eye on those Rebecca Minkoff heels, that blazer, and those perfect PJs...

AND, because one is never enough:

Happy Shopping!

favorite things: greens, golds, and browns

sweater with elbow patches // ring // bag // necklace // piggy bank
It's no secret that green is my very favorite color.  Throw in a little brown and gold and I am sold.  The combination of all three colors makes me love this necklace for fall, and you could wear it well into the holiday season with the touches of emerald green.  And, how adorable is this piggy bank?  What a perfect way to save my pennies for that purchase that I would only make "when pigs fly."

Linking up with Annie and Morgan.  What "favorite things" are you wishing for this week?

favorite things: "b" edition

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 (on sale!) / 5 (on sale!)

There is something so classic and rich about black and brown.  Worn separately each color is great, but I think pairing black and brown together makes the most impact.  One of my favorite fall outfits is black skinny pants, a black tunic, and brown accessories.  The trick is finding a warm, cognac brown (like the colors featured above) to brighten up all black.

For all you Floridians, adding a shot of black or brown can make "dressing for the season" a little easier during these transitional months as well!

Do you like pairing black and brown together?

Just a quick round up of the things I can't get enough of this week.  I often get questions about gift ideas for girlfriend's birthdays, anniversary presents, and hostess gifts, so I hope that a "favorite things" post might provide a little inspiration each week.  Feel free to be in touch with your specific gift needs. Happy Wednesday!

friday finds: lily and laura bracelets

Hello Friends!  Just a very quick post today to share one of my favorite new finds: Lily and Laura Bracelets.  My sister introduced me to these a few weeks ago and we quickly snapped up more than I care to admit.  They are perfect for stacking together or even wearing individually.

In addition to being super cute, the bracelets have a social benefit too.  The company's business practice is to improve the quality of life of artisans in Nepal by paying more than fair trade wages.  No need to feel guilty buying lots of these beauties...snap a few up today to add to your stack!

mother's day gift guide

Happy Friday!  I turned in my last law school paper yesterday afternoon, so happy, happy, happy indeed!  It's a strange feeling to be done, but also an amazing relief.  I am shifting into packing mode today before all of our family arrives next week for graduation festivities.  In addition to packing, finding the perfect Mother's Day gifts is on my list for this week.  And, just in case you are still on the hunt for something for Mom, here is a little inspiration:

1. Agate Coasters / 2. It's All Good Cookbook / 3. Striped Tote / 4. Initial Necklace / 5. Silhouette Art
The agate coasters would be the perfect colorful pop to add to any house, and the new Gwyneth Paltrow cookbook has gotten amazing reviews.  This striped tote is classic enough for any mom, but playful with the neon stripe.  I also love the idea of a personalized gift- especially for Mother's Day.  The necklace can be ordered to include any number of initials and is a cute way for a mom to keep her children, grandchildren, etc. close to her heart year-round.  Finally, consider a piece of silhouette art for Mother's Day this year.  I think this would be perfect for a mom with young children.

If you are interested in personal shopping services, feel free to send me an email and we will find you the perfect present for your Mom's tastes and preferences.  I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

thoughts for friday

Happy Friday!  Last weekend was a wonderful recharge for me and it was so needed before this LONG week of projects, meetings, interviews, etc.  Fingers crossed for another recharge weekend full of relaxing, checking things off the list, and CELEBRATING EASTER.

As a brief aside, my perspective on Easter tends to get so skewed as a student- I inevitably wind up looking towards exams that are coming up in a few weeks instead of focusing on what I consider to be the most important holiday in my faith.  Let me just say that while I have loved the flexibility that being a student has afforded me, I am super excited to re-join the "real world" and hopefully to focus a little more on the things in life that mean so much more than any test or paper.

With that perspective in mind, here are a few things that have brought a little extra joy this week, that I highly recommend trying, or that I am contemplating trying myself.  I bit of a mixed bag of "friday finds" and "thankful thursday" items if you will.

Dogwoods are BLOOMING in our neighborhood.
Makes those chilly walks so much nicer!

Tried to "recreate" the feeling of vacation with a little french patisserie visit in Raleigh.
My croissant didn't come with a view, but it was still a delicious mid-week pick me up.

I LOVE these blue earrings and am contemplating them as a treat for myself.
Thanks to the ever stylish Lauren T for introducing them to me!

New workout tanks that wick but aren't too tight.
Why didn't someone think of this sooner?!

Delicious...no DELICIOUS rosemary sea salt bread.
Run to Fresh Market and grab some...it has made an appearance with most meals this week!

Happy Weekend everyone!  I hope it's a wonderful, relaxing time to focus on what matters most to you.

friday find: chesterNYC

Happy Friday!  I am so excited to share my "friday find" with you today... chesterNYC!

chesterNYC

When I worked in Charlotte, I was lucky enough to meet Mimi Kennedy Harris.  Mimi is bright and energetic and always had the BEST statement necklaces.  Recently, Mimi moved to New York and launched her new line of statement jewelry, chesterNYC.  In just a short time, Mimi has developed quite a following and counts Kelly Ripa as one of her fans.

Mimi creates custom pieces by mixing different colors, textures, and materials.  Recently, I was lucky enough to win this custom necklace from chesterNYC and I LOVE IT!  It is perfect for work, for going out to dinner, or just to dress up a casual weekend outfit.

Just in case you need any more inspiration, check out these other great pieces I love.  Have a fabulous friday and be sure to check out chesterNYC!

last day for charles emerson designs party

Happy Martin Luther King Day!  Are you enjoying a three day weekend?  I am relishing my last MLK Holiday as a student...it's the little things in life.

On a not so little note, today is the last day of the Charles Emerson Designs Party I am hosting.  I have had a few questions about this and you should know, this is an online party.  All you do is click this link, chose your favorite pieces, and enter the discount code "PartyWithAnnie" at check-out to receive 10% off.  AND, everyone who makes a purchase with the code is entered into a drawing to win a free pair of earrings...their choice!  Really it would be silly not to take a look.

Just in case you missed my post raving about this, this, and these, here are a few other pieces that have recently been added as available for purchase.  I may or may not spy a David Yurman look-a-like and a certain JCrew-ish bracelet.

Head on over to Charles Emerson Designs today and check it out.  Leave me a comment and let me know what you get!
